The Section on Environment, Energy & Resources (SEER) of the American Bar Association (ABA) has recently named our partner, Guillermo Silva, as planning chair of its Disaster Recovery and Resilience Conference to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on February 8, 2024. The one-day program, which will serve as a prelude to SEER’s Winter Council Meeting on February 10, 2023, is being organized in conjunction with the University of Puerto Rico Resiliency Law Center and will be held at the University of Puerto Rico Law School in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico.
The San Juan program is geared towards attorneys and non-attorneys alike, including law schools students and the local community, and will focus on the accomplishments and challenges faced by the island’s government, federal agencies, private sector, and non-governmental bodies in recovery and resilience as a result of natural disasters, and the practical lessons to be taken from these moving forward.
Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the February 2024 conference date.
